FAQ's
Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone produced naturally in the body. The hypothalamus and pituitary gland are responsible for the amount of testosterone produced. In addition to being responsible for maturation of sexual organs and libido in men, testosterone is also a contributor to muscle & bone, fat distribution, hair growth, motivation, energy level, and decreased irritability.
Testosterone treatment produces results in improving your mood, energy levels, muscle strength, bone health, libido, memory, erectile function, and sexual prowess! Testosterone replacement also has been proven to be good for your heart, cholesterol, and life expectancy. Men feel and function their best when their testosterone levels are high.
Generally, the normal range in men is about 270-1070 ng/dL (nanograms per deciliter) with an average level of 679 ng/dL. When levels reach below 300 ng/dL, then a man is considered to have "Low T" and may have already begun experiencing symptoms. The levels reach their peak by age 20. By the age of 40, there is often a decline of 1-2% per year. A balance must be achieved so that the body's testosterone levels are not too low or too high. Thrive Men’s Clinic has an in-house lab and will monitor your levels regularly.
Normally within 30-40 days, your body will begin to feel the changes attributed to Testosterone Replacement Therapy. After 6 months, men will notice the full effect of their treatments and feel revitalized! Note that those who practice healthy living habits may experience results more quickly.
Our doctor onsite will assess your body's needs to help avoid any potential risks, however every man's body is different. One risk is an increase in red blood cells which can mean positive effects for those with conditions like anemia, and can be treated with regular blood donations. Other risks include skin reactions such as acne or oil, increased body hair, prostate enlargement, worsening sleep apnea, and fluid retention. If you wish to have children, we will add hCG to continue spermatogenesis and to prevent testicular atrophy.
We do not accept private insurance, medicare, or medicaid. However if you have a health plan or health savings that allows reimbursement, we can provide the necessary documentation for you to process that.
